These instructions assume you are running Apple iOS 6 or greater on the iPhone 3GS. Ensure you have version 1.27 or greater of the Jabra Solemate Max firmware, visit the official Jabra Solemate Max support site [2] to download the latest version. On the right hand side of the speaker locate the power slider, there are 3 settings - off, on and bluetooth. From the off position slide up the power switch all the way to the top and hold it until the indicator light turns flashing blue and you hear the announcement "Go ahead and connect me, use the Bluetooth setting on your phone".
- From the home screen on the phone open Settings control panel, then go to the Bluetooth menu and turn on the Bluetooth option.
- Underneath select Jabra Solemate Max from the list of nearby devices to connect to the iPhone, it will then say "Paired" next to the name of the device.
- The Jabra Solemate Max and the iPhone 3GS are paired and ready to be used to play music. Tapping on the AirPlay icon in any iOS application which can play audio will bring up a list of devices where you’ll be able to toggle between headphones, the loudspeaker and the Jabra Solemate Max. In future you can turn on the Jabra Solemate Max and it will automatically connect to the iPhone 3GS without needing to pair again, just turn both devices on and wait for the "Solemate is connected" announcement.
