Pairing a Beats Pill to the iPad using Bluetooth

Simple instructions on how to connect the iPad to a Beats Pill wirelessly.

  1. The following instructions describe how to pair the iPad with a Beats Pill. First turn on the Beats Pill by pressing and releasing the power button, the power button is located the top of the Beats Pill Bluetooth speaker. Hold the 'b' for around 3 seconds until the Bluetooth LED located on the back of the Pill flashes white. This indicates that the Bluetooth speaker is in pairing mode.
  2. From the home screen on the iPad open Settings control panel, then go to the Bluetooth menu and make sure the Bluetooth option is turned on.
  3. Underneath select Beats Pill from the list of nearby devices to connect to the iPad, shortly afterwards it will then say "Paired" next to the name of the device.
  4. The Beats Pill and the iPad are now ready to be used to play music. Tapping on the AirPlay icon in any iOS application on the tablet that can play audio will bring up a list of devices where you'll be able to toggle between the headphones, loudspeaker and a Beats Pill. When the Beats Pill has been paired the light will glow solid white.
  5. In the future you can turn on the Beats Pill and it will automatically connect to the iPad without needing to pair again, just turn both devices on and wait for the Bluetooth light to glow. The Beats Pill Bluetooth speaker can remember up to 8 devices, when you turn it on it will try to connect with the most recent.

Connecting a Beats Pill from the iPad using a cable

  1. These instructions show you how to hook up the iPad to a Beats Pill using a cable to play audio. First locate the headphone socket on the top of the iPad.
  2. With the Bluetooth speaker turned off locate the IN port located at the back of the speaker between the OUT port and the power button.
  3. Connect the headphone socket on the iPad to the IN on the Beats Pill port using a 3.5mm stereo male to 3.5mm stereo male cable [4].
  4. From now on sounds from the iPadthe tablet will stop playing on the iPad speaker and play on a Beats Pill instead.
  5. After switching on the speaker you will be playing music from the iPad. The Beats Pill and the iPad are now connected and ready to be used to play audio.
