How to pair the iPhone 3GS to a Beats Pill using Bluetooth

  1. The following instructions describe how to pair a Beats Pill with the iPhone 3GS. First you need to turn on the Beats Pill by pressing and releasing the power button, you can find the power button located the top of the Beats Pill speaker. Then press the 'b' for around three seconds until the Bluetooth light located on the rear of the Pill blinks white. This indicates that the Bluetooth speaker is in pairing mode.
  2. From the home screen on the phone open the Settings control panel, then go to the Bluetooth menu and make sure the Bluetooth option is turned on.
  3. Underneath select Beats Pill from the list of nearby devices to pair with the iPhone, it will then say "Paired" next to the name of the device.
  4. The Beats Pill and the iPhone 3GS are now ready to be used to play music. Tapping on the AirPlay icon in any iOS application which plays audio will bring up a list of devices where you’ll be able to toggle between headphones, the loudspeaker and a Beats Pill. When the speaker has been paired to the iPhone 3GS the light will stop flashing and glow white.

In future you can turn on the Beats Pill speaker and it will automatically connect to the iPhone 3GS without needing to pair again, just turn both devices on and wait for the Bluetooth LED to glow.   1. These instructions show you how to hook up the iPhone 3GS to a Beats Pill using a cable to play music. First locate the headphone socket at the top left of the phone.
  2. With the speaker turned off locate the IN port located behind the speaker between the OUT port and the power button.
  3. Connect the headphone socket on the iPhone 3GS to the IN on the Beats Pill port using a 3.5mm stereo male to 3.5mm stereo male cable [4].
  4. Any audio from the iPhone 3GS will stop playing on the phone speaker and play on a Beats Pill instead.
  5. After switching on the speaker you should be playing music from the iPhone 3GS. The Beats Pill and the iPhone 3GS are now connected and can to be used to play audio. [AD]
