How to connect the iPhone 3GS to a Beats Pill XL

These instructions assume that you have installed Apple iOS 6 or greater on the iPhone 3GS. The following list of instructions show you how to connect to Beats Pill XL speakers to the iPhone 3GS. - The following instructions describe how to pair the iPhone 3GS with a Beats Pill XL. First you need to turn on the Beats Pill XL by pressing and releasing the power button, hold the round 'b' logo for 3 seconds until the 'b' blinks. This indicates that the speaker is in pairing mode and ready to connect to the iPhone 3GS.
- From the home screen on the iPhone open Settings control panel, then go to the Bluetooth menu and make sure the Bluetooth option is turned on.
- Underneath select Beats Pill XL from the list of nearby devices to connect to the iPhone, it will then say "Paired" next to the name of the device.
- You can now play music on a Beats Pill XL wirelessly from the iPhone 3GS. Tapping on the AirPlay icon in any iOS application which plays audio will bring up a list of devices where you will be able to toggle between headphones, the loudspeaker and a Beats Pill XL. When the Bluetooth speaker has been paired the round 'b' button will stop flashing and glow. - These instructions show you how to hook up the iPhone 3GS to a Beats Pill XL using a cable to play audio. First locate the headphone socket on the top left of the iPhone.
- Turn the Bluetooth speaker around so the back is facing you ensuring the power is switched off.
- Access the IN port by pulling out and rotating the rubber port cover to the left of the 'beats pill xl' logo. The IN port is located between the power and OUT ports.
- Connect the headphone socket on the iPhone 3GS to the IN on the Beats Pill XL port using a 3.5mm stereo male to 3.5mm stereo male cable [4].
- Any audio from the iPhone 3GS will stop playing on the phone speaker and play on a Beats Pill XL instead.
- Turn on the speaker and you should hear music playing from the iPhone 3GS to the Beats Pill XL. The Beats Pill XL and the iPhone 3GS are now connected and can to be used to play audio. [AD]
