  1. The following instructions describe how to pair the iPad 3 with a Beats Pill XL. First you need to turn on the Beats Pill XL by holding the power button, then press and hold the round 'b' button for 3 seconds until the 'b' blinks. This indicates that the Beats Pill speaker is in pairing mode and ready to connect to the iPad 3.
  2. From the home screen on the phone choose the Settings control panel, then go to the Bluetooth menu and turn on the Bluetooth option.
  3. From the list of nearby devices select the Beats Pill XL, shortly afterwards it will then say "Paired" next to the name of the device.
  4. You can now play music on a Beats Pill XL wirelessly from the iPad 3. To connect the iPad 3 to a Beats Pill XL the correct cable to use to connect the iPad 3 to a Beats Pill XL.

  1. These instructions show you how to connect the iPad 3 to a Beats Pill XL using a cable to play audio. First locate the headphone socket on the top of the iPad.
  2. Turn the Bluetooth speaker round so the back is facing you making sure the power is switched off.
  3. Access the IN port by pulling then rotating the rubber cover to the left of the 'beats pill xl' logo. The IN port is found to the left of the OUT port.
  4. Connect the headphone socket on the iPad 3 to the IN on the Beats Pill XL port using a 3.5mm stereo male to 3.5mm stereo male cable [4].
  5. From now on audio from the iPad will stop playing on the loudspeaker and play on a Beats Pill XL instead.
